Six brave souls blessed the sidewalk in front of the shop with their hard earned perspiration in this, the inaugural running of the TATI Winter Duathlon.

Warming up to "99 Problems," the discussion focused on shoe choice and transitions. As the first heat lined up, the soundtrack switched to an appropriately urgent track from Kruder & Dorfmeister. Miles and Jeff opted for running shoes on and off the bike, which proved to be the most practical solution. Jesse chose to run in his cross shoes, which made for seamless transitions, but severe sole pain afterwards. Liam and Andrew did full transitions with two pairs of shoes, but their times suffered as a result. Liz initially ran in her cross shoes, but for the second lap decided to go Kenyan (ie barefoot) -- shaming and impressing up all. There was no cool down, as everyone scurried away to work and class afterwards. It was rather cold, so we closed to Symphony No. 1 in G minor by Tchaikovsky.
